LONDON, UK, X, June, 2010 – Juniper Networks® (NYSE: JNPR) today announced that Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (Trinity Laban) has deployed a high-performance Ethernet switching solution from Juniper Networks, based upon its single network operating system Junos® software. The new solution replaces legacy network infrastructure at Trinity Laban’s three campuses across London and provides increased performance, security and scalability. The deployment also reduces complexity and simplifies network management. “With new services converged onto a single network, starting with voice and wireless, we needed increased performance and reliability from our network. At the same time we also needed to simplify the infrastructure’s operation and management,” said Yvonne Connell, Head of IT, Trinity Laban. “Juniper’s EX switches provide a robust platform for our LAN infrastructure, with fewer physical switches required to achieve the required levels of performance. The power of one operating system also further simplifies the network, driving down our total cost of ownership significantly.” Trinity Laban was formed in 2005 by the merger of Trinity College of Music and contemporary dance centre Laban. Known as a leader in innovative music and contemporary dance education, Trinity Laban has three sites in South East London and over 1000 undergraduate and postgraduate students. Trinity Laban has deployed Juniper Networks EX Series Ethernet switches to deliver a high-performance, scalable solution supporting the organization’s converged network access deployments – including Voice over IP and Wireless Ethernet. The EX3200 provides Trinity Laban with the highest levels of availability for demanding converged data, voice and video environments. Similarly, the Juniper Networks EX4200 Ethernet switches with Virtual Chassis technology combine the high availability and carrier-class reliability of modular systems with the economics and flexibility of stackable platforms. Virtual Chassis technology enables up to 10 interconnected EX4200 switches to operate as a single, logical device, allowing networks to grow incrementally without incurring large up-front costs. “In a project like this, Junos can be a game-changer, enabling the customer to achieve more with less,” said Gert-Jan Schenk, senior vice president EMEA, Juniper Networks. “The network operating system brings simplicity and stability to network environments that have historically been rife with complexity, reliability and security issues. Simply adding more hardware isn’t a viable solution anymore. Instead, organizations need smarter solutions that can flex to meet demand in concert with a simplified, streamlined network architecture.” Juniper’s local partner on the Trinity Laban deployment was Scalable Communications, a leading independent provider of secure, best of breed converged solutions.
