January 30th 2008 - Scalable Communications has secured Framework Contracts with NHS Connecting for Health, through open competition to provide additional supply capability and capacity (ASCC) in the supply of IT products and services to the NHS. NHS Connecting for Health, an agency of the Department of Health, had a need for access to a broader base supply community, to support delivery of the National Programme for IT and to meet a range of wider NHS business requirements. The contracts are not to replace the contracts already let for the National Programme for IT, or any existing contractual arrangements, but are intended to supplement the existing supply capacity and to enable new requirements to be met through a readily available approved Framework and to mitigate risks of existing suppliers being unable to meet contractual commitments. The Frameworks will enable the streamlined procurement of IT systems and services from suppliers who have demonstrated experience in the health sector and can be used to support both National Programme for IT (NPfIT) related work and wider IT related projects to meet future requirements and the changing demands of the NHS. With a wealth of experience, and total commitment to providing a range of IT solutions and services to the Healthcare sector, Scalable Communications seized the opportunity to respond to the open competition, successfully winning contracts in the following specialist provider categories: Service Category 3.2 – Network Infrastructure Services Service Category 3.5 – Consultancy Services Simon Brown, Managing Director at Scalable Communications commented: “The Healthcare sector is an exciting place for Scalable Communications; notably the recent successful implementation of a complex wired and wireless state-of-the-art Essex Cardiothoracic Centre at Basildon University Hospital.
